Grove Spring House
Its Location and its Attractions As A Summer Resort
Hammondsport Herald, April 28, 1874
This fine hotel situated on the eastern shore of LAKE KEUKA ("Crooked
Lake"), near Hammondsport, Steuben Co., N.Y., will be opened for the season
of 1874, on or about the first of June. The experience of the past five
seasons has demonstrated the fact that the Grove Spring House and Lake
Keuka, as a "Summer Resort" are appreciated, and that they are patronized
by a large and unexceptionable class of pleasure seekers.
In the future, as in the past, no pains will be spared to render the
House and the surroundings attractive to all lovers of good substantial
pleasure and enjoyment. While we would be glad to see the faces of all
guests, with their families, who have patronized the house during the
last five years, we will be pleased to welcome many new faces, assuring
them of equal hospitality.

a Pavilion for the accommodation of guests.
There is ample stable room, and those who bring their private horses
